INEC Chairman Escapes Arrest After Partial Compliance with Court Order

INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, narrowly avoided police arrest after partially complying with a court order to restore the name of the Action Alliance (AA) National Chairman, Adekunle Rufai Omoaje, on the party's portal. The Federal High Court in Osogbo had directed INEC to reinstate Omoaje's name and that of the party's National Executive Committee (NEC).

However, INEC only partially implemented the ruling by restoring the NEC's names but omitting Omoaje's details. The court threatened Yakubu with arrest if full compliance was not achieved within seven days.

Notably, the name of a suspended NEC member, Kenneth Udeze, still appeared on the portal despite his expulsion.
