INEC Clears Eight Associations, Disqualifies Six in Political Party Registration Process

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has approved eight associations for political party registration and disqualified six others after the initial phase of the registration process. Sam Olumekun, the chairman of INEC's Voter Education Committee, disclosed this information following a regular meeting held on October 30, 2025.

The successful associations include Democrat Alliance (ADA), African Alliance Party (AAP), and Green Future Party (GFP). INEC did not reveal the names of the disqualified associations but stated that the next stage involves detailed verification of documents submitted to ensure compliance with legal standards.
