INEC Declares APGA’s Nwachukwu Winner Of Anambra South Senatorial Bye-Election

APGA's Nwachukwu has been declared the winner of the Anambra South Senatorial bye-election by INEC. Nwachukwu secured the victory by defeating Chief Azuka Okwuosa of the APC and Donald Amamgbo of the ADC, scoring 1,345 votes.

The election, which saw 16 political parties competing to fill the vacant seat left by the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, also saw Barrister Mimih Ifeoma Azikiwe of the YPP emerge victorious in the Onitsha North State Constituency. Azikiwe defeated Justina Azuka of the ADC, who garnered 1,200 votes.

The election was marked by sympathy for the late Senator Ubah, who was kidnapped and later found dead near the Second Niger Bridge in February 2025. Other candidates, including Ezennia Chuka Ojekwe of the APC and Njideka Ndiwe of the YPP, scored.
