Bye-election: INEC presents Certificates of Return to winners

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) presented Certificates of Return to seven winners of the National Assembly bye-elections held on August 16, 2025. The presentation ceremony took place at the Commission Headquarters in Abuja on August 21, 2025.

Newly elected lawmakers representing various constituencies across the country were awarded certificates, including Nwachukwu Emmanuel Chibuzor of the Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for Anambra South Senatorial District. Other winners included Ikpea Joseph Igiagbe and Igbinedion Omosede Gabriella for Edo Central and Ovia Southwest in the House of Representatives, respectively.

The presentation was overseen by National Commissioners, with each region represented. The winners from Jigawa State, Kaduna State, and Ogun State were also among those who received their Certificates of Return.
