INEC Distributes Electoral Materials for Rivers Bye-Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has begun distributing sensitive electoral materials for the Rivers South East Senatorial bye-election, set to take place on Saturday. This distribution is being conducted from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) office in Port Harcourt.

Dr. Johnson Alalibo, the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Rivers State, assured journalists that the materials are properly secured and remain intact without any form of tampering.

He expressed confidence in INEC's preparedness to deliver a credible, transparent, and peaceful election. Alalibo called on political party agents and electoral observers to stay alert to ensure that the electoral process is not compromised.

The bye-election will affect seven local government areas, and INEC is coordinating with various stakeholders, including security agencies and political parties, to oversee the distribution of ballot papers and result sheets.
