INEC Awards Certificates to Bye-Election Winners

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) issued certificates of return to candidates who emerged victorious in the bye-elections conducted on June 20, 2026, across several states including Rivers, Enugu, Nasarawa, Ondo, and Kano. The presentation of the certificates was conducted on behalf of INEC's chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, SAN.

Mr. Mai Agbamuch Mbu, who oversees the electoral body in Rivers State, addressed the newly elected officials during the presentation, congratulating them on their victories. He emphasized the importance of representing their constituencies with integrity and urged the winners to dedicate themselves to their responsibilities, reminding them of the trust placed in them by the electorate.

INEC also indicated that certificates for winners of recent elections, including the Zuru State Constituency election in Kebbi State and the Ekiti State governorship election, would be presented soon.
