INEC Distributes Electoral Materials for Gombe By-Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) distributed sensitive electoral materials on September 18, 2026, for the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency by-election set for September 19, 2026. The distribution occurred at the Central Bank of Nigeria premises in Gombe, attended by political party agents, members of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security, security personnel, CBN officials, and journalists.

Alhaji Umar Muktar Gajiram, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Gombe State, confirmed that the materials would be sent to local government areas for deployment to polling units. He emphasized the importance of transparency in the process, which included endorsements and signatures to authenticate the materials.

Gajiram urged all political parties and candidates to adhere to the Peace Accord signed prior to the election, stressing that maintaining peace is a collective responsibility among all stakeholders involved in the electoral process.
