INEC Announces Bye-Elections Across Four States Tomorrow

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is set to conduct bye-elections in five constituencies across four states on Saturday, September 19, 2026. The constituencies involved are Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency in Gombe State, Dawakin Kudu State Constituency in Kano State, Sakwa and Disina State Constituencies in Bauchi State, and Udu State Constituency in Delta State.

Voting will take place from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm in all polling units within these constituencies. INEC has urged voters in these areas to actively participate in the electoral process.

Additionally, on August 14, 2026, INEC announced the restoration of four additional State House of Assembly constituencies in Delta and Kogi States, as detailed in a statement signed by National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Mohammed Kudu Haruna. The restored constituencies include Abraka, Isoko North II, and Ughelli South II in Delta State, as well as Yagba West II in Kogi State, with party primaries held between August 21 and 25, 2026.
