INEC to Conduct Mock Accreditation in Ekiti on Friday

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is set to conduct a mock accreditation exercise in Ekiti State on Friday, as part of its preparations for the upcoming governorship election scheduled for June 20. Dr.

Bunmi Omoseyindemi, the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Ekiti State, stated that the mock exercise will take place across three local government areas and will involve all three senatorial districts. This initiative aims to ensure a seamless electoral process by testing the effectiveness of the bimodal voter accreditation system and identifying any potential issues that could arise during the actual election.

INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, will select the local government areas based on specific criteria.

Additionally, Omoseyindemi mentioned that the collection of voter cards will continue until Thursday, urging registered voters who have not yet collected their permanent voter cards to do so in order to participate in the June 20 election.
