INEC Rejects Turaki-Led PDP NWC Due to Legal Disputes

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has refused to recognize the Kabiru Turaki-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) citing unresolved legal issues and court judgments. INEC's decision is based on ongoing litigation surrounding the party's internal leadership crisis.

The commission emphasized the importance of not recognizing any faction pending the outcome of the legal process to uphold the rule of law. The rejection stems from the faction's purported election during the PDP National Convention in November 2025 in Ibadan, Oyo State.
