INEC Releases Ekiti Governorship Candidates List, Excluding PDP Flagbearer

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the list of governorship candidates for the upcoming Ekiti State election, with 12 political parties participating. Notably, the PDP flagbearer, Wole Oluyede, was missing from the list due to internal party conflicts.

Oluyede emerged as the PDP candidate after defeating Funso Ayeni in the primaries supported by Seyi Makinde and Bala Mohammed. INEC's decision follows the rejection of recognizing the PDP's National Working Committee led by Kabiru Turaki.

The party is embroiled in leadership crises and legal disputes following its convention in Oyo State.
