INEC Excludes PDP Candidates from Ogun, Gombe Lists

On October 11, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) published the final list of governorship candidates for the 2027 election, revealing that the names of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates from Ogun State, Ladi Adebutu and Yemi Sowunmi-Gbadebo, along with Gombe State candidate Professor Isa Ali Pantami, were missing. In Ogun State, 13 political parties had their candidates listed, but the PDP was not among them.
Kayode Adebayo, the Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Ogun, stated that the party had not yet confirmed the report. In Gombe State, Pantami's name was also absent from the INEC list.
Additionally, the name of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate in Kano State, Abdussalam Gwarzo, was missing. Efforts to obtain comments from the PDP and NDC representatives were unsuccessful.
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP indicated that they had not seen the INEC list and would not make an official statement until they could verify its contents.
