INEC Reveals Governorship Candidates for 2027 Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) unveiled the list of governorship candidates for the 2027 elections, leading to concerns as some candidates found their names missing. In Adamawa State, the ADC's previous candidate, Ambassador Omar Suleiman, was replaced by Hamman Tukur Modibbo Ribadu.

In Niger State, PDP candidate Abubakar Suleiman agreed to step down, while in Nasarawa State, the SDP's list omitted high-profile aspirants, including former IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu and Senator Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo. Instead, Musa Adamu Angba was named the SDP candidate.

Angba expressed willingness to relinquish his ticket to Adamu if necessary, emphasizing their good relationship. He denied knowledge of an affidavit claiming he would withdraw.
