Dalung Critiques INEC's Confusion Post-2023 Elections

Solomon Dalung, the former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, expressed significant concerns regarding the operations of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during an interview on Trust TV on Wednesday. He stated that INEC is functioning within "parameters of confusion," particularly in light of the outcomes of the 2023 elections.

Dalung emphasized the need for INEC to redeem its image, especially in the context of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the broader electoral landscape in Nigeria. He highlighted the distress among the populace, suggesting that the mere mention of electoral issues causes significant anxiety.

Furthermore, Dalung criticized the recent approval by the Senate for the use of manual collation of election results, which he believes undermines electoral integrity. He pointed out the troubling fact that even notorious bandit leader Bello Turji is reportedly a registered member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), raising questions about the integrity of the electoral process.
