SERAP Urges INEC to Account for Missing ₦55.9 Billion in Alleged Corruption

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to explain the missing ₦55.9 billion earmarked for purchasing smart card readers, ballot papers, and other election materials for the 2019 general elections. SERAP demands transparency and prosecution of any corrupt practices to uphold Nigerian rights in elections.

The allegations were detailed in SERAP's latest annual report, urging INEC to disclose the names of contractors involved. Professor Joash Amupitan and Kolawole Oluwadare are key figures in this corruption probe.
