INEC Reveals 12 Candidates for Kwara 2027 Governorship

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced 12 governorship candidates for the 2027 Kwara State governorship election on Saturday at its office in Ilorin. The candidates are from various political parties, with Yakubu Danladi-Salihu representing the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Bello Mubarak Salau as his running mate.

Danladi-Salihu won the APC primary election in May, chaired by Senator Musiliu Obanikoro. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has Bolakale Kawu as its candidate, with Fawenu Corlenius as his running mate.

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) is fielding Apaokagi Salahudeen and Kolawole Thawphic. Other parties participating include the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Accord Party, Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Action Peoples Party (APP), Action Alliance (AA), Action Peoples Movement (APM), National Democratic Party (NDP), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

This unveiling signifies the commencement of preparations for the 2027 governorship election.
