Akwa Ibom Government Denies Security Withdrawal from Ex-Gov: Calls Reports Lies

The Akwa Ibom State Government has refuted claims of Governor Umo Eno ordering the withdrawal of security details from former Governor Udom Emmanuel. The State Commissioner of Information, Aniekan Umanah, dismissed the reports as "inflammatory" and "concocted lies." Speculation arose alleging that the security detail was removed due to political differences ahead of the 2027 elections.

The government clarified that no security operatives were withdrawn from the former governor's residence and attributed the rumors to political propaganda. Chief Secretary to the Governor, Ekerete Udoh, denounced the reports as baseless fabrications, emphasizing the government's commitment to security and stability in the state.
