Information Minister Endorses Tinubu's Economic Reforms

The Information Minister expressed support for President Bola Tinubu's economic reforms while meeting with the leadership of the APC Forum of Former Presiding Officers of State Houses of Assembly (FOPSHA), led by Chairman Senator Wasiu Esinlokun, in Abuja. He noted that the Tinubu administration had made bold decisions, such as removing the fuel subsidy and unifying the foreign exchange market, which strengthened public finances and facilitated increased investment in critical sectors like infrastructure and education.

The Minister stated that improved revenues allowed state governments to meet salary obligations and undertake capital projects, enhancing their fiscal positions. He urged FOPSHA members to leverage their grassroots connections to communicate government policies effectively.

The Minister also reported that Nigeria's foreign reserves had surpassed $50 billion and GDP growth had exceeded four percent. He mentioned ongoing infrastructure projects as evidence of the administration's commitment to economic growth.

Senator Esinlokun affirmed the forum's commitment to mobilizing political support for Tinubu's administration ahead of the 2027 elections.
