Nigerian Army to Recruit 28,000 Personnel for Security

The Nigerian Army, under the leadership of Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has announced plans to recruit 28,000 personnel to bolster its manpower in the fight against insecurity across the country. This announcement was made during a press conference in Abuja on Friday.

The recruitment is part of a broader strategy to enhance operational capabilities and address emerging security challenges. The Army also plans to establish a training depot in Amasiri, Edda, Ebonyi State, which will serve as the third institution for training personnel.

Maj. Gen. Bamidel Alabi, representing the Chief of Army Staff, emphasized the importance of modern technology and strategic partnerships in combating insecurity. The Nigerian Army aims to continuously review its force structure to fill gaps and improve deployment strategies, ensuring a resilient and combat-ready force capable of fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities.
