NSA Mallam Calls for Global Cooperation Against Terrorism

During the 4th UK-Nigeria Security Defence Partnership (SDP4) dialogue held in Abuja, Mallam, the National Security Adviser (NSA), stated that combating terrorism and organized crime requires cooperation among trusted partners. He highlighted the interconnected nature of security challenges, which increasingly have global implications.

Mallam reaffirmed Nigeria's commitment to confronting these challenges through a whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach. He welcomed continued international partnerships to address counterterrorism challenges, which remain central to Nigeria's security strategy.

Jonathan Powell, the UK National Security Adviser, reiterated the UK's commitment to supporting Nigeria in tackling its security challenges, recognizing Nigeria's significant leadership role in the region. The dialogue also focused on enhancing Nigeria's crisis response capabilities and disrupting terrorist financing networks.

UK military personnel are currently in Maiduguri to support Nigerian forces in confronting terrorism in the region.
