Nigeria Police Enhance Security for 2026 JAMB Exams

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has announced the deployment of extra security measures at Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination centers across the country as the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is set to begin on April 16, 2026. This decision follows recent unfounded rumors about safety issues at specific centers in the North Central State.

DCP Anthony Placid, representing the NPF, emphasized that the police are aware of these baseless claims and reassured the public that they are taking proactive steps to ensure the safety of candidates. The NPF will implement both overt and covert security measures, including routine patrols, perimeter checks, and the establishment of rapid response teams at strategic locations.

They are collaborating with other security agencies to monitor and address potential threats that could disrupt the examination process. The NPF encourages candidates and parents to arrive early at examination centers and report any suspicious activities to security personnel.
