Northern Elders Demand Probe of Politicians Spreading Fake News Amid Insecurity Concerns

Northern elders at a meeting in Birnin Kebbi expressed concerns over the spread of misinformation by certain politicians in the North, warning that such actions could worsen the fragile security situation. They criticized former Senator Kabiru Marafa for allegedly urging military intervention in Zamfara State.

The elders called for a probe by the DSS to determine if these actions amount to sabotage. They also rejected calls to remove Deputy Defence Minister Bello Matawalle, emphasizing the need for focused policies to reduce poverty and enhance security.

The elders commended the federal government's military operations in the North-West.
