Northern Governors Endorse State Police and Suspend Mining Activities to Tackle Insecurity

The Northern Governors' Forum (NGF) has endorsed the establishment of state police to tackle insecurity in Northern Nigeria. They also recommended the suspension of mining activities for six months to conduct proper audits and address illegal mining contributing to the security crisis.

The forum pledged monthly contributions of one billion naira to a regional security trust fund. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was commended for efforts in securing the release of abducted children and combating insurgencies.
