Tinubu's Aide Bwala: Nigeria's Insecurity Not Worsening

Daniel Bwala, a special adviser to President Bola Tinubu, asserted that insecurity in Nigeria is not worsening, despite ongoing challenges. Speaking on Al Jazeera, Bwala emphasized the federal government's efforts to manage security issues, noting a period of relative calm earlier in the year.

He acknowledged that while no country is completely free from security threats, Nigeria has made significant strides under the current administration. Bwala criticized Western media for portraying Nigeria negatively, arguing that the government has taken bold steps to improve the country's trajectory.

He referenced the arrest and elimination of several terrorist leaders, including a Boko Haram leader, and highlighted U.S. recognition of Nigeria's efforts. Bwala also addressed the rise in kidnappings, describing it as an economic crisis and detailing government initiatives like the Safe School Initiative to protect students.

Recent attacks in Borno State, including the abduction of 100 women and children, underscore the ongoing security challenges.
