Zamfara Governor Calls Emergency Meeting on Insecurity

On the weekend, Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal held an emergency security meeting with heads of relevant security agencies and stakeholders in response to a recent bandit attack on February 19 in Dutsin Dan Ajiya Village, Anka Local Government Area, which left no fewer than 50 residents dead. During the meeting, Governor Lawal tasked security chiefs with an urgent review of the current security framework and the implementation of coordinated measures to counter the threats posed by banditry.

A statement issued by the governor's spokesperson, Sulaiman Idri, indicated that the meeting aimed to address the rising insecurity in the state. Lawal emphasized the need for heightened vigilance and strengthened intelligence efforts to ensure that bandits do not gain further ground.

He also expressed condolences to security personnel who lost their lives or sustained injuries in the line of duty and assured support for affected communities.
