Datti Baba-Ahmed on Northern Nigeria's Silence Amid Insurgency

Datti Baba-Ahmed, a chieftain of the People's Redemption Party (PRP), expressed that the calm nature of Northern Nigeria has contributed to the reluctance of its people to speak out regarding the ongoing insurgency. In an interview on Trust TV, he noted that while the North suffers from insecurity, the traditional demeanor of its people has led to a subdued response to these issues.

Baba-Ahmed emphasized that the cultural differences between the North and the South West play a role in this dynamic, suggesting that the North's perceived meekness is not necessarily negative. He remarked that Northern Muslims are protective of their rights, particularly concerning issues like blasphemy.
