Ndume Urges FG to Act Against Insurgency After Kidnapping

Ali Ndume, the Senator representing Borno South, renewed his call for the Federal Government to adopt proactive strategies in combating insurgency and banditry. This appeal came in the wake of the abduction of 42 students from Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School in Askira Uba Local Government Area, Borno State, during a recent attack by terrorists disguised as military personnel.

Ndume stressed the urgency for the government to collaborate with sub-national entities to reassure Nigerians amidst rising insecurity. He also called for intensified efforts from security forces to ensure the safe return of the kidnapped students.

Additionally, Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede emphasized the importance of coordinated military responses across Africa to address evolving security threats. He reaffirmed Nigeria's commitment to promoting peace and stability on the continent, highlighting the critical role of military guidance in conflict prevention and crisis response.
