Politicians Importing Bandits, Warns Dr. Kanu Uche

In an interview, Dr. Samuel Kanu Uche, Prelate Emeritus of the Methodist Church Nigeria, expressed concerns about the rising insecurity in Nigeria, attributing it to disgruntled politicians who are allegedly importing bandits and hoodlums into the country.

He emphasized that the upcoming 2027 presidential elections require candidates who genuinely love Nigeria and are committed to good governance. Uche highlighted the importance of the church's involvement in politics, stating that it has historically played a significant role in shaping leadership and governance.

He referenced notable figures in Nigeria's history, such as Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, and Herbert Macaulay, to illustrate the church's influence.

Uche warned that insecurity is often sponsored by political elites and called for a collective effort to foster genuine love for the nation to overcome these challenges. He urged religious leaders and traditional rulers to promote peace and justice, stressing that true change requires a transformation of heart and attitude among the populace.
