2026 WIEG Investment Summit in Lagos to Boost MSME Support

The 2026 WIEG Investment Summit is scheduled to take place in Lagos on February 25th and 26th. The summit, organized by Women in Emerging Growth (WIEG), aims to boost support for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria.

Bassei Essien, a spokesperson for WIEG, highlighted challenges faced by MSMEs, including limited access to structured investment capital, gaps in investment readiness, compliance issues, and fragmented engagement with policy makers and market actors. The summit will focus on addressing these challenges and providing a platform for policy-private capital growth partnerships.

It will feature sessions on investment readiness, policy-market dialogues, and matchmaking between MSMEs, cooperatives, investors, and Development Finance Institutions (DFIs). The event is designed to deliver practical results and ensure post-summit tracking and reporting to measure outcomes.

Importantly, the summit is non-partisan and carries no financial burden for government partners, aligning with public policy objectives.
