Sanwo-Olu Launches Lagos Investment Summit for 2026

On Thursday, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State announced the launch of the "Invest Lagos 3.0" summit, a key initiative designed to attract investment and solidify Lagos's position as a leading gateway for capital flow and trade in Africa. The summit, scheduled for June, is a partnership with the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC).

Sanwo-Olu emphasized that the summit is not merely a ceremonial gathering but a structured investment platform aimed at aligning projects with long-term development priorities outlined in the Lagos State Development Plan 2052. The summit will facilitate discussions around bankable projects across various sectors, including infrastructure, renewable energy, and healthcare.

Samantha Cohen, CEO of CWEIC, expressed readiness to collaborate with Lagos State to showcase investment opportunities to international investors from 56 Commonwealth countries. The initiative aims to deepen cross-border trade relationships and mobilize global capital to stimulate economic growth and enhance the fiscal sustainability of Lagos State.
