IPI Nigeria Launches Global Campaign for Press Freedom

The International Press Institute (IPI) Nigeria, led by editor-in-chief Musikilu Moje, is set to initiate a global campaign against individuals Bago, Eno, and Egbetokun, who have been described as detrimental to media freedom and journalists' rights in the country. This announcement was made during the launch of the IPI's press freedom hub in Abuja.

Moje explained that the institute had previously suspended plans for a broader campaign following a request from Vice President Kashim Shettima during the last annual conference, which aimed to allow time for dialogue. However, due to the lack of action taken since that request, the IPI has decided to proceed with its campaign to hold these individuals accountable.

Amina Salihu commended the IPI for its efforts, emphasizing the importance of an independent press for democracy. The event included notable attendees such as former senior special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari, Garba Shehu, and others.
