NUPENG Nationwide Strike Shuts Down Fuel Depots Including Dangote, Fear of Scarcity Rises

The Nigerian downstream sector faced disruption as the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) initiated a nationwide strike on September 8, 2025. The strike led to the shutdown of fuel depots, including those of Dangote and other major players.

The strike impacted loading activities at depots, with Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) in Lagos blocking access to key facilities, causing fuel loading to be suspended.
