Iran Denies U.S. Negotiation Claims Amid Tensions

On Monday, Iran's Foreign Ministry officially denied claims made by U.S. President Donald Trump that negotiations were underway between Tehran and Washington to resolve ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

The ministry emphasized that no discussions were taking place, countering Trump's statements which were reported by Iranian media. Trump's claims were seen as part of an effort to drive down global energy prices, following a significant drop in oil prices triggered by his social media post.

The denial came after Trump suggested that Washington and Tehran had engaged in productive conversations over the past two days, aiming for a complete resolution of hostilities in the region. The Pentagon had reportedly postponed a military strike against Iranian energy infrastructure pending the outcome of these alleged negotiations.

Tensions remain high, particularly concerning the Strait of Hormuz, where Iran has threatened to deploy naval mines in response to U.S. actions.
