US-Iran Peace Talks Confirmed by White House Amid Denials

The White House has stated that discussions between the United States and Iran are ongoing, aimed at reducing tensions between the two nations. During a press briefing on Monday, White House Press Secretary Karolin Leavitt emphasized that the Iranian regime is increasingly seeking a diplomatic solution, despite describing Iran's public stance as misleading.

Leavitt noted that Iranian leaders are eager to end hostilities at the negotiation table. However, Iranian officials, including Esmaeil Baqaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, have repeatedly denied that formal negotiations are occurring, asserting that Iran has not engaged in direct talks with the United States.

Baqaei explained that Tehran received messages delivered by intermediaries indicating Washington's interest in talks, but Iran has clearly articulated its position from the outset, aware of the framework being considered. The situation remains uncertain as both sides navigate their respective demands and positions.
