Trump Calls Iran's Ceasefire Proposal "Garbage"

On Monday, former U.S. President Donald Trump described Iran's response to a U.S. peace proposal as a "piece of garbage," asserting that the ceasefire is on "massive life support." He indicated that Iran's leadership has dishonored their people by repeatedly changing their stance on agreements.

Trump accused Iran of returning to a nuclear agreement that would allow the U.S. to remove supplies for uranium enrichment. Iran's demands include compensation for war damages, an end to U.S. naval blockades in the Strait of Hormuz, and the lifting of sanctions that hinder Iranian oil sales.

The ongoing conflict, which began on February 28, has resulted in thousands of deaths and disrupted vital energy flows, with oil exports significantly affected. Brent crude oil prices rose by 2.7% to around $104 per barrel amid these tensions.

The U.S. and Israel continue to express concerns over Iran's nuclear capabilities and proxy forces in the region.
