Iran Condemns UN Resolution as Politically Motivated

Gholamreza Raja, Iran's ambassador to Nigeria, condemned the recent United Nations Security Council resolution that criticized Iran's actions in the Gulf region. He described the resolution as one-sided and politically motivated, failing to reflect the realities of the crisis and ignoring acts of aggression against Iran.

Raja argued that Iran's actions were within the framework of international law, specifically its right to self-defense as outlined in Article 51 of the UN Charter. He stated that the resolution, which was co-sponsored by Bahrain and adopted by 135 member states with 13 votes in favor, did not address the root causes of the conflict and represented a double standard within the Security Council.

Additionally, Raja responded to Qatar's complaints regarding alleged missile and drone attacks, asserting that Iran's military operations were solely targeted at entities associated with the United States and that Iran had no intention of targeting neighboring countries, including Qatar.
