Iran Threatens to Close Hormuz Strait Amid U.S. Tensions

Iran's military has issued a warning that it will completely shut down the strategic Hormuz Strait if the United States targets its power plants. This threat comes in response to U.S.

President Donald Trump's ultimatum, which demands Iran reopen the Strait within 48 hours or face military action. The military's command, Khatam al-Anbiya, stated that the Strait will not reopen until the targeted power plants are destroyed and rebuilt.

The military's operations are a direct response to recent U.S. and Israeli bombardments in the region, which have heightened tensions. The Strait of Hormuz is crucial for global oil transport, with 20% of the world's crude oil passing through it.

Iran has also warned that it will block vessels from countries that join in aggression against it. Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf mentioned that maritime traffic has not returned to pre-war levels, indicating the ongoing instability in the region.
