Canada Gains Two-Year Stay in Ireland's Holiday Scheme

Ireland has announced the eligibility criteria for its Working Holiday Authorisation, which allows young citizens from specific countries to live and work in Ireland. The Irish Immigration Service confirmed that most eligible applicants can stay for a maximum of one year.

However, citizens from Canada are granted a significant advantage, as they can remain in Ireland for up to two years under this scheme. This extended duration provides Canadian applicants with more opportunities to gain professional experience and integrate into Irish society.

The application process is managed by the Department of Foreign Affairs, and places are limited. It is important to note that individuals already residing in Ireland at the time of application are automatically disqualified.

Successful applicants must also register with immigration authorities upon their arrival in Ireland.
