IRISE Meeting in Lagos Enhances Women's Health Guidelines

On March 26, 2026, IRISE convened a Stakeholders’ Technical Review meeting in Lagos, focusing on strengthening sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) and improving women's health outcomes. The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from the Ministry of Health, the Primary Health Care Board, and the Domestic Sexual Violence Agency.

Omodel Ibitoy Ejeh, Executive Director of IRISE, emphasized the need to bridge the gap between policy and practice, noting existing guidelines that women and girls face barriers in accessing quality reproductive health services. The meeting identified critical bottlenecks affecting the implementation of guidelines and aimed to develop practical solutions.

Dr. Kehind Okunad from SOGON highlighted the importance of moving beyond policy to effective implementation.

The session concluded with a commitment to address these bottlenecks and improve SRHR in Lagos State, ensuring that women have access to safe and respectful reproductive health services.
