ADC Condemns Wike's Threat Against Seun Okinbaloye

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has condemned Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, for threatening to shoot Seun Okinbaloye, a presenter at Channel Television. This incident occurred during a live broadcast on Thursday, where Okinbaloye discussed the political landscape and the potential impact on the 2027 elections.

Wike's comments were made in response to Okinbaloye's claims about the political crisis in Nigeria and the ADC's inability to contest in the upcoming elections. Following this, ADC spokesman Bolaji Abdullahi issued a statement on Saturday, labeling Wike's remarks as irresponsible and unacceptable.

Abdullahi emphasized that such statements constitute a direct attack on freedom of speech, highlighting the importance of protecting democratic discourse in Nigeria.
