Kaduna State Faces Insecurity Crisis as 177 Individuals, Including Children, Kidnapped from Churches

In Kaduna State, Nigeria, a disturbing incident occurred where 177 individuals, including children, were abducted from the ECWA Church and Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Kurmin Wali community, Kajuru Local Government Area. The victims were from various households, with ages ranging from 6 to 71 years old.

The community reportedly paid a ransom of N2.6 million for the release of 20 residents who were previously abducted. The state government and security forces have faced criticism for their response to the kidnappings, with groups like Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW) accusing them of political insecurity.

Governor Uba Sani and retired Gen. Christopher Musa have been commended for their efforts in tackling insecurity, while former Governor Nasir El-Rufai's governance has been contrasted with the current situation.
