Israel Accuses Iran of Terrorism Support in Nigeria

Michael Freeman, the Israeli ambassador to Nigeria, accused Iran of spreading terrorism in Nigeria, particularly through the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, which he claims is backed by the Iranian regime. He stated that Iran's global agenda includes destabilizing African countries, including Nigeria, and linked the Islamic Movement to Tehran's influence.

Freeman emphasized that Iran's military ambitions and nuclear program pose a threat to Israel and the broader region. He justified Israel's military actions as necessary to counter Iran's aggression and protect civilians.

In response, the Iranian mission in Abuja dismissed Freeman's allegations as unfounded and part of a propaganda campaign aimed at deflecting attention from Israel's own internal issues. The accusations come amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East and concerns over Iran's influence in West Africa, particularly following a recent kidnapping incident in Kwara State.
