Israel Prepares for Strong Response to Potential Iran Attack

On Wednesday, Israel's Defence Minister, Israel Katz, declared that Israel is prepared to respond “with great force” if attacked by Iran, following Iranian forces targeting US military positions across the Middle East. Katz noted that Israeli forces are on alert for a possible attack during the Jewish high holiday season, which begins in mid-September.

He stated, “For now, they are striking throughout the region except us,” indicating a potential threat to Israel. Katz affirmed that if Iran were to attack, Israel would respond independently and with significant military force, adding that “our planes are ready to take off.” Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar echoed Katz’s sentiments, suggesting that while Israel would respond heavily if attacked, he was uncertain if Iran would make that mistake.

Iran has recently launched retaliatory attacks on US sites in the region, marking the heaviest exchange in weeks. Katz remarked that Iran tends to attack during Jewish holidays due to their animosity towards Jews, asserting Israel's readiness both defensively and offensively in coordination with the United States.
