ISWAP Financial Operator Surrenders in Borno State

On July 25, 2026, at approximately 6:45 a.m., a senior financial operator of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) surrendered to troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) along the Ladari–Jegarawa–Tunokalia axis on the Gamboru–Wulgo Main Supply Route in Borno state. The identity of the surrendered individual, who managed ISWAP's financial activities and logistics, was not disclosed.

He surrendered alongside two male children. Troops recovered an AK-47 rifle, four magazines, 101 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition, a motorcycle, and ₦40,000 from him.

This surrender is part of a larger trend, with approximately 46 terrorists and their family members surrendering in recent days, indicating a significant operational breakthrough for OPHK. The surrender of this key finance operative signifies a setback for ISWAP, reflecting the erosion of the group's command structure and operational capabilities due to ongoing military pressure.
