Aproko Doctor's Wife Opens Up on PCOS and Fertility Struggles

Chef Amaka, the wife of popular medic content creator Aproko Doctor, shared her experiences with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and fertility challenges. She revealed that shortly after their marriage in June 2020, her menstrual cycle stopped entirely, prompting hospital visits that confirmed her condition.

Amaka began to suspect she had PCOS when she noticed significant weight gain and changes in her body shape. PCOS is a common gynecological disorder affecting women's reproductive health, with global estimates indicating it affects 4-20% of women, and in Nigeria, studies show a prevalence of 13-18% among women of reproductive age.

Amaka expressed her distress over online trolling directed at her husband, Aproko Doctor, with comments mocking their inability to conceive and her physical appearance. She described how these comments have deeply affected her, especially as they stem from her ongoing battle with PCOS, leading to emotional distress and tears.
