Obidient Movement Criticizes 5% Fuel Surcharge in Tinubu's Tax Reform Agenda

The Obidient Movement strongly opposes the 5% fuel surcharge proposed by the Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy Tax Reforms as part of the Tinubu tax reform agenda. The group argues that the levy, aimed at improving road infrastructure, will only burden the poor and vulnerable in Nigeria.

Tanko, the National Coordinator, criticized the government for failing to deliver on promises of infrastructure transformation. The movement urged the government to focus on expanding the tax base and imposing progressive taxes on luxury consumption instead of adding to the financial burden of the citizens.
