Atiku Abubakar Criticizes FG Over Security Failures

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar condemned the Federal Government's handling of security in Nigeria, emphasizing their responsibility to protect lives and property. In a statement shared on Saturday, he lamented the violent attacks threatening the nation's peace and unity.

Atiku denounced the continued acts of terror and extended his condolences to the victims and affected communities. He urged the authorities to intensify efforts to address the ongoing security crisis.

His statement comes in light of a recent deadly attack in Borno State, where militants targeted a military base in Benisheikh, resulting in the death of a soldier and 29 members of the Task Force Brigade Operation Hadin Kai, including Brigadier General O.O. Braimah.

The region continues to face persistent threats from Boko Haram and its splinter group, the Islamic State West Africa Province, despite years of military operations.
