Torrance Man Arrested for Alleged Trump Assassination Plot

Cole Allen, 31, was arrested for allegedly attempting to assassinate President Donald Trump during the White House Correspondents' Dinner. He faces charges including carrying a semi-automatic handgun, a pump-action shotgun, and three knives.

The FBI reported that Allen had written a plan to target members of the Trump administration. Following his arrest, neighbors in Torrance, California, described him as a quiet and friendly individual, with one neighbor, Vinc Terrazzino, noting that nothing unusual had ever happened in their community.

Allen appeared in court but has yet to enter a plea. His arrest occurred shortly after a helicopter circled his home, prompting law enforcement to search the area.

Neighbors expressed shock at the news, with some stating they had seen Allen regularly but had no idea of his alleged intentions. Allen studied at the California Institute of Technology and was known to attend church services in the area.
