Security Footage Released in Trump Assassination Attempt

The U.S. Department of Justice released nearly six minutes of security footage showing Cole Allen, 31, accused of attempting to assassinate President Donald Trump during the White House Correspondents' Dinner at the Washington Hilton.

The footage shows Allen walking back and forth in a hotel corridor and approaching a security checkpoint while carrying what appears to be a long-barrel gun. During the incident, he shot at a U.S.

Secret Service officer, but no one was injured. The video includes clips of the chaotic moments when Allen was tackled and detained by security personnel.

Although the Secret Service agents discharged their weapons three times, Allen was not shot. He faces charges of attempted assassination and could face life in prison if convicted.

The motive for Allen's actions has not been disclosed, and questions remain regarding the security protocols at such high-profile events.
