NDC Leader Dickson Criticizes OK Movement's Campaign Council

Senator Seriake Dickson, the National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged the party's presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, to rein in their support group, the OK Movement. This call to action came after the OK Movement announced the formation of a 59-member Presidential Campaign Council for Obi.

Dickson condemned this move, labeling it as nonsensical and asserting that a support group lacks the authority to establish a campaign council. He emphasized that support groups should not compete with political parties or assume their roles, stating, “Support groups don’t compete with political parties that are sponsoring candidates.” He further clarified that support groups are meant for grassroots mobilization and should not act as critics of the political party.

Dickson's remarks were made during a reception for Babachir Lawal, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, who joined the NDC.
